Pete Simons is an associate with the firm’s Litigation and Business Law Departments. Pete's practice focuses on commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Specifically, he advises businesses, professionals, and government entities on administrative and regulatory matters. Pete also advises clients on compliance with U.S. Treasury, State and Commerce Department regulations governing cross-border transactions, and has assisted companies in a broad range of industries with developing export compliance programs.
Pete has been in practice since 2004. Before joining HLGR, Pete was an associate at Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston, where he was a member of the firm’s National Security & Foreign Trade Regulation and Financial Services practice areas.
Pete is admitted to practice in Oregon and Massachusetts. He serves on the board of Directors of the Camas Educational Network in Eugene, Oregon. Camas works with public and private schools in the upper Willamette Valley (inclusive of 7 school districts) to integrate environmental education and stewardship into the community and restore critical habitat for rare species and sustain ecosystem services associated with open spaces.
Pete earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He earned a B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science from Boston College, where he also served as the captain of the cross country team.
