Aaron Bals is an associate with the firm’s Litigation Department. He represents individuals, businesses, and public entities in administrative adjudications, trial court litigation, and appeals. Aaron also provides business and regulatory advice to health care clients. He prides himself on being practical, thorough, and adept at finding creative solutions to difficult problems. Cases representative of his practice include contract and tort claims, ERISA benefits litigation, health care cases, public contracting protests, shareholder disputes, land use conflicts, and commercial foreclosures.
Aaron is admitted to practice law in Oregon, including before the U.S. District Court of Oregon and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Multnomah Bar Association and a former chair of the Futures Committee of the MBA Young Lawyer’s Section. He serves on the Advisory Counsel for the Salvation Army Veteran’s and Family Center in Beaverton.
Aaron received his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Oregon School of Law. He also holds a B.A. in News-Editorial Journalism and Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated with high distinction.
Aaron is a former summer associate with the firm and also clerked for the Oregon Department of Justice in the Trial Division’s Commercial, Condemnation and Environmental Section. During law school, he was an active member of the environmental law society Land Air Water, and earned a certificate of completion in Environmental and Natural Resources Law.
